Many of us have been home for a few weeks now, and our sofas have been in a much higher use than usual. We can clearly see our favourite place to sit by the deep butt groove in the seat! Lots of wear and tear can take a toll, causing the cushions to sink or become misshapen. There are a few things we can do to make our sofas look like new again: Adding more stuffing to the cushions with foam and down will add firmness and fluff to get your sofa feeling and looking new in no time. Most cushions, even those attached to the frame of the sofa have zippers for this purpose. Sofa stuffing can be found in many Arts & Craft as well as any Home Improvement stores.

Use a large scarf, blanket or purchase a sofa cover to hide any obvious issues, giving your sofa an instant facelift! Though this won’t “fix” any sagging issues, it will make your sofa look neat and tidy, and feel more comfortable. If you like a more polished look, tuck the fabric edges under the cushions.

Check the webbing underneath the seat cushions. When you take a seat on your sofa, the springs apply pressure to the webbing causing wear over time. This layer begins to sag, making your once lovely couch look tired and droopy. You can take your sofa to an upholstery shop where they will retighten or replace the webbing, making your sofa look as good as new!

Finally, you could buy a brand new sofa! Sofas with multiple seat cushions have a tendency to slump or loose their shape more quickly. If this is a concern, a sofa with a single seat is what you’re after!
