Facebook Weekly Giveaway Contest 

Rules & Regulations

THIS CONTEST IS INTENDED FOR RESIDENTS OF CANADA (EXCLUDING RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC, BRITISH COLUMBIA, YUKON AND THE NORTHERN TERRITORIES) ONLY AND WILL BE INTERPRETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CANADIAN LAW.

1. CONTEST PERIOD:
   The Surplus Furniture Social Media Giveaway Contest runs on an ongoing basis. Individual giveaway dates will be announced through official Contest Posts on Surplus Furniture’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

2. SPONSOR:
   Surplus Furniture & Mattress Warehouse is the sponsor of the Contest (“Sponsor”).  This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook®.  Furthermore, each entrant completely releases Facebook® from any liability or obligation with respect to this Contest.

3. ELIGIBILITY: 

   The Contest is open to residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, British Columbia, Yukon and the Northern Territories, and excluding Canadian residents who live more than one hour from the nearest Surplus Furniture location. Entrants must be the age of majority in their province or territory of residence.

   Employees of Surplus Furniture & Mattress Warehouse and individuals living in the same household are not eligible. Participation in the Contest constitutes full acceptance of these Rules, as outlined at Surplus Contest Rules & Regulations.

4. HOW TO ENTER:
   NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Entry requirements will be clearly stated on each Contest Post. Typical methods of entry include:

1. Liking the Contest Post

2. Commenting on the Contest Post

3. Following Surplus Furniture on Facebook or Instagram

4. Sharing the Contest Post with friends and family (if requested per contest instructions)

Entrants acknowledge they are providing information to Surplus Furniture, not to Facebook or Instagram. 

5. ENTRY LIMIT:
   There is no entry limit per person per giveaway. Entrants attempting to use multiple identities or automated systems, or attempting to tamper with the Contest, may be disqualified. Late, lost or misdirected entries will not be accepted.  

6. VERIFICATION OF ENTRY:
   All entries are subject to verification. Surplus Furniture may request government-issued identification to confirm eligibility. Failure to provide requested documentation may result in disqualification.

• THE PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: 

  Each giveaway will award one prize as stated on the Contest Post. Unless otherwise noted, the prize will be a Surplus Furniture accessory item with an approximate retail value of $98.

  The Prize:

  • Must be accepted as awarded
  • Is not transferable or redeemable for cash
  • May be substituted with an item of equal or greater value
  • Must be picked up in-store within 30 days
  • Does not include delivery fees

• Valid government-issued identification is required for prize pickup.

8. WINNER SELECTION PROCESS AND ODDS OF WINNING:
   One winner will be selected for each giveaway through a random draw from all valid entries. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

9. WINNER NOTIFICATION PROCESS:
   Winners will be contacted via comment reply or direct message on Facebook or Instagram. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within 5 business days, another entrant may be selected.

10. WINNER CONFIRMATION PROCESS: 

    Before being confirmed as the winner, the selected entrant must:

    1. Answer a mathematical skill-testing question correctly

    2. Complete and return a release form within 10 business days

    3. Consent to the use of their name, photo or statements for promotional purposes without further compensation

    Failure to meet any condition may result in disqualification and another winner being chosen.

11. PRIVACY:

     Information collected from entrants will be used solely for administering the Giveaway and is subject to Surplus Furniture’s Privacy Policy.

12. GENERAL CONDITIONS:

    Surplus Furniture is not responsible for:

    • Technical failures affecting participation
    • Social platform outages or disruptions
    • Lost, delayed or corrupted entries
    • Device malfunctions during entry

    Surplus Furniture reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the Contest at any time due to technical issues, fraud or circumstances beyond its control. In cases where promotional statements differ from these Rules, these Rules take precedence.
