- Some include a centre support, which helps support the mattress, provides additional support to your back, and is mandatory if you have a split foundation.
- Can be noisy and may begin to squeak and creak over time.
Wood Bed Frames
- Wood bed frames can be more expensive than metal.
- Heavier than metal frames and may require more time to set up.
- More design elements and a wider variety of colours and materials.
- Can be customized — sit higher than a regular metal frame, or include storage under the bed.
- Often include slats that run across the width of the bed for additional support.
- Many wooden frames don’t come with a headboard or aren’t set up to attach one.
