Very few stores offer layaway these days. I didn't even know what it was until I went into Surplus Furniture & Mattress Warehouse, located in Winnipeg at St. James Street. One of the sales representatives explained to me what layaway is and what it does for me. This was suited for my needs because I was to be a new homeowner in 3 months! Surplus has very simple bi-weekly payments, and sometimes I skipped days because of circumstances. During my layaway plan, I was browsing for a new sofa set on Surplus Furniture's website and noticed that my set went up in price! I immediately phoned the store and they told me that I didn't need to worry. I will still have the price that was before since it's on layaway. So with that said, it freezes the price of all that I purchased and still gave me the best deal possible!
